Hello, i have a 2009 ford transit mini-bus for sale is great condition for its age., , Call or text to reach my right away. Will respond to emails slower., , I bought this vehicle about a month ago from a fleet of company vehicles, details and contact with previous owner can be organized for verification if necessary. They specialize in transporting children with disabilities. It was part of a fleet of Ford Transporter minibuses they are in the process of swapping for newer year models. As a dual UK / AU citizen buying my first car in the UK, working a remote IT job id planned to use it as a camper to travel and work out of as I have done with the same model in Australia., , Unfortunately, I did not do my research regarding UK law before making the purchase. While transferring my Aussie driver’s license I’ve found that the UK will not recognize any of my Australian license qualifications or 15-year history of accident-free driving, So I cannot legally drive it as they will only swap my license for a basic automatic small vehicle license. This in turns effects insurance cost, and much to my disappointment It is hard to justify further investment of time, money and effort to be able to legally use this vehicle as opposed to selling and buying something smaller I can use immediately., , It’s a great vehicle, just passed MOT and has been hard for me to put up for sale as opposed to committing to a camper conversion and upgrading my UK License, but ultimately I just need transportation ASAP . If it’s not wanted, I will hold onto it, but id like the chance to travel while the weather is still good., , It had its first owner for less than a year before being purchased by the business I purchased it off, the second owner. Luckily, they have kept service records, MOT’s and receipts of work done for the entire nine years before I purchased it. So, I have a folder of this documentation thicker than the average novel., This is especially important as the odometer has been replaced by an after-market version, which has in turn malfunctioned, so accurate mileage cannot be given. The last MOT with mileage was 48k miles after 1 year with the original owner and 5 years with the second owner. Four years have passed since with it remaining in the same role of transporting people with disabilities for the same business, according to the last owner it saw minimal use in the past eight + months though and has mostly been sitting in the depot., , When purchasing I inspected and tested four other 2007 to 2009 ford transporter minibuses purchased in the same year as this vehicle as well as some Renault’s. Mileage in the ford transporter fleet varied between 90,000 miles and 140,000 miles. I chose this particular vehicle out of the three left for sale still as it appeared and drove better than the others, has less warnings on its MOT and the others had higher mileage on their MOTs at the time of this fleet vehicles last MOT showing mileage. The owner believes each vehicle in the fleet was used to drive roughly the same miles per year, give or take some of course. He estimated the miles as between 90 and 120k miles. Of course, there is no proof of this aside from the documentation I am in possession of, the rest requires taking the word of the disability support business who previously owned the vehicle and my own word at and experience going through the fleet and each vehicles folder of paperwork. Photos of the most relevant documentation can be viewed in the listings photo’s section, I’ve tried to be thorough so please take a look if interested., , Additional details are that the tires are about mid tread to my understanding. With a 5th brand new tire attached as a spare. There are some extra features not included in the standard variant such as rear air conditioning vents throughout the back of the vehicle, reverse alarm and potentially more. That said the heating is working but I believe the air conditioning needs re-gassing as it feels it should be colder. External and internal condition is close to flawless, aside from some minor surface level rust spots I would treat, which photos are included of and the glove box being functional but loose, photos included again. Rims are also somewhat rusty, not sure that matters much though., Starts easily every time, feels great to drive, passed MOT less than a month ago so it’s good in that department for almost a full year. Brake pads will need replacing at some point. Still functioning perfectly, with no signs of wearing too low yet, but the brake pad light has recently come on. Classed as a minibus on the 5vc, certified to transport 15 passengers. The vehicle has 17 seats currently present in it though. Due to the nature of its former use the extra seats in the back and the front passenger seat are present but not bolted securely as they have just been placed back in for the sale. Easy to add and remove what seats you wish though., , The car passed its MOT immediately before I purchased it and has been driven for about two hours since. As seen on the MOT there are some warnings but all minor, besides a dust cover. Easy to replace but important to keep dust from accumulating around the ball joint. Front headlight plastic cover could use some treatment as its growing faded. Rear brake pipe could use a heavy clean as covered in grease and grime but is structurally fine. The bush (small rubber component) on one suspension arm is beginning to wear but is not currently causing any problems. Likely something one would want to replace while it’s cheap to do so. Has not begun to be noticeable while driving, hence it being a minor warning, but something I would keep in mind in case it does wear to the point of making creaking sounds on sharp turns. At that point not addressing it would be risky from my research., , I purchased the vehicle for 4,000 pounds. Without paying any VAT. In honesty I don’t understand how VAT works and if it’s required when selling this time. Ideally, I would like to just get what I paid back but I am open to negotiating or even vehicle swaps., If VAT needs to be paid that can be negotiated / deducted from the price. Ultimately, I just want a reliable van I can go on trips with ASAP after being stuck at home working in tech for six months. This transit was perfect and is a great car from my previous experiencing owning one, but sadly is not suitable for my needs as an expat here in the UK., , I am located in Lingfield a little way south of London in the direction of Brighton, right next to east Grinstead. I work via distance at home on my laptop, so the vehicle is available for viewing and test driving any day. If it’s not a weekend or after 5pm I’ll just need a little notice (afew hours) to let work know. Please do not hesitate to make contact if you have any questions or wish to take a look at the vehicle itself or the documentation surrounding it., , ,
