They provide assistance to radiologic technologists and other healthcare professionals, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care., Key Responsibilities:, Patient Preparation:* Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, ensuring they are comfortable, and assisting with changing into appropriate attire., Equipment Setup:* Assist in preparing and positioning patients for imaging examinations, ensuring that all necessary equipment and accessories are in place and functioning correctly., Patient Safety:* Ensure patient safety during imaging procedures by adhering to radiation safety protocols, using appropriate shielding, and monitoring patients for any signs of distress or discomfort., Transportation:* Safely transport patients to and from the imaging department and ensure they are properly positioned for the procedure., Documentation:* Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedure details, and any adverse events during imaging examinations., Assistive Devices:* Assist patients with mobility or positioning aids, such as wheelchairs, stretchers, or transfer boards., Infection Control:* Follow infection control measures to maintain a clean and safe imaging environment, including proper disinfection of equipment and patient areas., Equipment Maintenance:* Perform basic maintenance tasks on imaging equipment and ensure they are clean and in good working condition., Patient Education:* Provide basic information to patients about the imaging procedure, including what to expect and how to prepare., Communication:* Maintain effective communication with radiologic technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and address any concerns or issues., Emergency Response:* Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies during imaging procedures, including initiating basic life support measures and contacting medical personnel as needed., *Qualifications:*, - High school diploma or equivalent., - Strong interpersonal and communication skills., - Compassion, empathy, and the ability to work with patients undergoing medical procedures., - Basic knowledge of imaging procedures and equipment., *Working Conditions:*, - Imaging support workers typically work in hospitals, imaging centers, clinics, or outpatient facilities., - The role may involve standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility or positioning., - Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to accommodate patient and departmental needs., Imaging support workers play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of imaging departments.
