Start with the sidecut: It's shared by Rossignol's gold-medal-winning GS race ski and by its expert-focused Viper X 10.2. But in the Salto, a viscoelastic layer under the foot and a damp, Microcell core make the sweet spot huge and forgiving. A centrally located Dualtec construction cap on top, laminate below gives it plenty of edge on harder snow, too. It's a fun, elegant medium-to-long turner at a reasonable price.
