It also known from other common names such as giant club cactus, cadushi, hedge cactus and kayush. With just a little bit of care and attention, this plant can grow easily and add a unique element to your floor plan or landscape design. Many gardeners also grow this cactus for its exotic flowers and edible fruits. Flowers are large, cream colored and opens for only one night. Fruits are thorn less. The fruits are a great food source for birds in native range. They are best enjoyed raw and may simply be eaten out of hand or prepared similarly to Dragon Fruit. Dice the flesh and add to salads, smoothies, fruit salsas or desserts. The cactus was organically grown in beautiful area of Topanga canyon.
