Principals only. Sr. Engineer – CAE, Model Building (Salary Range: $143,000/yr - $155,000/yr): Design and develop CAE (computer-aided engineering) models. Construct and maintain high-quality FEA (Finite Element Analysis) models for all structural simulations, including crash, NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness), durability, closures, and other static and quasi-static simulations. Create and maintain documentation for quality standards and procedures. Ensure quality and on-time delivery of master models at major checkpoints. Evaluate the progress and durability of CAE Model Builds. Follow work plans for significant milestone evaluations about CAE model creation and update systems and subsystems models accordingly. Support CAE Crash, NVH, and durability analysis to identify performance and modeling issues. Collaborate with external and internal teams and incorporate feedback into CAE Model Builds. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related engineering field. 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a CAE Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or a related occupation. SKILLS: Must have: 1. Experience building full vehicle CAE NVH (Noise-Vibration-Harshness) models, and creating model build plans. 2. Experience with automation development and scripting using Python. 3. Experience using CAE pre-processors (ANSA and Hypermesh) and CAE post-processors (Hyperview and MetaPost). 4. Experience preparing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models of automotive components using CAE tools (HyperMesh, ANSA, LS-Dyna and Optistruct). 5. Experience with CATIA (V5 or V6), SolidWorks, and Beta CAE simulator. 6. Experience with simulation data management systems through Teamcenter and PLM 3Dx.
